The deployment of the Apple Macbooks for Year 7 students in 2027 will continue to offer focused and engaged learning. Our research indicates that Apple Macbooks are leading devices in many countries around the world due to its simple and robust design and the way it directly complements the world's leading Apple, Google, Adobe, Stem and Microsoft software.
To ensure all devices are correctly configured for our network, you will need to purchase the laptop through the designated school portal. The Apple Macbook comes pre-configured with a managed profile, ensuring that students can access the internet and software immediately and most importantly, safely, whilst at school. It will also be bundled with a protective case.
The procedure for purchasing Apple Macbooks is as follows:
Parents are required to purchase the Apple device from the College Payment Portal using the following link: https://www.educomit.com.au/erc/edmund-rice-college-2027-program/. There is the option of selecting either the Apple MacBook Neo or the Apple MacBook Air.
The Portal closes on the 13th December 2026. Note that secure credit card or EFT payment options are available.
This online portal will give you the possibility of ordering other accessories.
We strongly encourage parents to also look at Apple Care+ and/or their current Home and Contents insurance, which may include additional protection for potential accidental damage.
The Apple Macbook device will be delivered to your home address.
To further support you and your son, book a time online: https://byod.erc.nsw.edu.au/home to meet with the IT team in January to set up your son’s device prior to the commencement of Term 1 2027. These meetings will occur in the College Library during which we will require your son’s laptop to sign in for the first time.
