Apple Laptop Program

The deployment of the Apple laptops for Year 7 students in 2023 will continue to offer focused and engaged learning. Internet access on school premises will be limited, ensuring that students can access the internet immediately and most importantly, safely. As such, students will not easily be able to access gaming applications and social media sites. 

Our research indicates that Apple laptops are exceptional due to their simple, robust design and the way it directly complements the world's leading Google applications (e.g. Google Classroom, Google Drive, and a variety of Google applications).

Current devices for Year 7 - 12:

• Year 7 (2023) - Apple Laptop that supports MacOS Version 15 (MacOS Sequoia)

• Year 8-12 - Chromebook or Apple Laptop that supports MacOS Version 15 (MacOS Sequoia)

https://www.educomit.com.au/erc/ is a custom made portal for Edmund Rice College parents which offers Apple Laptops at a competitive price. We do encourage parents/carers to consider AppleCare+, which offers a 3 year warranty coverage.

The procedure for purchasing the Apple Laptop is as follows:

1. All parents must purchase an Apple laptop, either from the Edmund Rice College Portal using the following link: https://www.educomit.com.au/erc/, or elsewhere, so long as it supports MacOS Version 15 (MacOS Sequoia)

   • To find if a particular Apple laptop supports MacOS Version 15 (MacOS Sequoia), please check https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT212551 or contact Apple laptop providers.

2. This online portal will give you the possibility of ordering other accessories such as a protective cover. We strongly encourage parents to also look at their current home and contents insurance, which may include protection for damage. 

Windows devices are not permitted at the college.
